In addition, he supported SB 269, a fiscally responsible tax reform bill that lowered income tax rates while protecting Kansas' long-term financial stability through strong budget safeguards.

STRENGTHENING PUBLIC SAFETY & PROTECTING KANSAS FAMILIES
Public safety remains one of Jeff Klemp's highest priorities. He has worked to strengthen public safety laws, support law enforcement, protect children, and address emerging threats facing Kansas families.
Jeff proudly introduced SB 374, the Logan and Austin Act, in honor of Logan and Austin Jackson of Leavenworth. This bipartisan legislation closed a dangerous loophole that allowed violent offenders deemed incompetent to stand trial to be released from custody, strengthening protections for victims and communities across Kansas.
Jeff also introduced HB 2365 to combat dangerous synthetic substances, including forms of Kratom, fentanyl-related products, and unregulated THC products marketed to young people. In addition, he supported legislation protecting law enforcement officers and co-sponsored bipartisan legislation prohibiting handheld cell phone use in active school and construction zones to reduce distracted driving and improve public safety.

PROTECTING KANSAS FARMLAND & NATIONAL SECURITY
Raised on a small Angus farm in northeast Kansas, Jeff Klemp understands that protecting Kansas agriculture is critical to the future of our state and nation. He was a sponsor for SB 9, protecting Kansas farmland and critical infrastructure from being purchased by foreign adversaries such as Communist China, particularly near military installations and strategic assets.

Jeff has also supported legislation making it easier for military spouses and professionals to transfer occupational licenses and get to work in Kansas. In addition, he has worked to remove barriers preventing veterans from accessing the benefits, services, and career opportunities they have earned through their service to our nation.
Jeff believes supporting those who serve our communities and defend our freedoms reflects Kansas values and strengthens families, communities, and the future of our state.
